This gave me time to maneuver into position where the force was going to be directed, so I could watch a slow-motion ragdoll be propelled gracefully right over me. I'd throw a grenade, freeze it in mid-air next to a soldier, and unfreeze time after it blew (they use a different timer). I decided I wanted to have control of time too, so I found a way to incrementaly map phys_timescale to mouse scrolling as well, so time went slower as I scrolled down, and sped up to 5x in increments as I scrolled up. I eventually came up with a system to allow me to scroll the mousewheel and incrementally adjust my FOV, hiding my weapons as I did so. I was more interested in tweaking reality and observing the game than I was in having a free pass through danger. When I found the console, I started exploring and finding how to stack bindings and make aliases and utilize the commands to change the FOV, the gravity, my speed, the scale of physics speed, etc. This was in the early days when Garry's mod was just coming out. I was, like many, in love with Half-Life 2, for the setting and the physics fun it offered. When you cheat, you're really playing a different game. However, one thing I would say is that the use of "cheat" codes should kind of disqualify you from critiquing the actual game without that disclaimer. I have no problem with this, and it's actually led me to some interesting real-life outcomes.
